  • POSITION PURPOSE: 

Thermacell is currently seeking a highly capable 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor with manufacturing and maintenance experience. This person in this role will be responsible for supervising and operating production equipment, documenting production information, and performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Please note that this role is a working supervisor position. This role will report to the Manufacturing Manager. 

STATUS: Exempt

WORKING HOURS: This will be a second shift position from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm with periodic extended work times required to support the needs of the business. The 2nd shift position and hours are permanent with no expectation of moving to a different shift within the first two years. This is a non-negotiable requirement and should be strongly considered prior to applying. Employee will be required to work first shift for approximately 2-4 weeks prior to transferring to second shift. First shift hours will be from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. 

WORK LOCATION: 4630 Distribution Parkway, Buford, GA 30519

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

· Supervise production staff and give technical direction.

· Perform manufacturing processes to aid in fulfillment of production timeline and goals.

· Monitor and prioritize workflow and schedules.

· Maintain departmental day-to-day production activities. 

· Lead, train, and coach manufacturing staff to ensure requirements are met for production, fulfillment, and employee safety.

· Assist in hiring, training, and reviewing performance of staff. Responsible for training of new Manufacturing Technicians and Line Operators. 

· Set centerlines and document adjustments to parameters as needed.

· Responsible for lock up of facility at end of shift.

· Report all production activities in a timely manner. 

· Operate a production line in accordance with standard operating procedures and with the objective of manufacturing a high-quality product while optimizing efficiency. 

· Maintain day-to-day safety and quality,

· Set up machinery prior to start of production run.

· Effectively monitor production machinery when on-line.

· Collaborate with other departments to complete production orders on time.

· Update productivity reports and write incident reports.

· Ensure product is following customer standards and ensure fulfillment goals.

· Confirm correct materials and appropriate quantities are used, reported, and document any discrepancies every shift.

· Conduct quality inspections to ensure products are free of defects.

· Perform routine repair and maintenance of all production equipment in a timely fashion and keep equipment maintenance logs. 

· Act as department communicator during status meetings, management updates, and staff shift changes.

· Organize shift schedules; track and report daily metrics. 

· Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

· Participate in Plant Safety Committee. 

· Comply with internal polices and industry regulations.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Complete employee quarterly performance reviews in a timely manner.

SKILLS REQUIRED

· High school diploma, with some level of college course work is preferred. 

· At least 5 years of manufacturing experience operating equipment, driving forklifts.

· 2-3 years’ experience as a manufacturing or production lead or supervisor, dealing with people management, or line leadership area.

· Ability to operate in a working supervisor role.

· Knowledge of production processes. 

· Experience in performing quality control procedures.

· Working knowledge of computers.

· Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.

· Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.

· Great communication skills.

· Keen attention to detail. 

· Problem solving.
