Performance Lab LIC is a high-end commercial boutique fitness operation offering 2 studios designed for group fitness classes.
Studio 1 offers strength, cardio, hybrid, gymnastics, and boxing classes. This studio has a capacity of 24 participants and contains top-of-the-line equipment including dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, sandbags, TRX suspension trainers, medicine balls, dead balls, bands, battle ropes, Woodway Curve treadmills, Rogue fan bikes, infinity ropes, and heavy bags.
Studio 2 offers Hot We Flow, Hot Power Flow, CoreCon, Pilates Rx, Pilates Fusion, Dance Rx, and Recharge classes. This studio has a capacity of 30 participants and all classes are heated with state-of-the-art infrared panels. Equipment includes: Lululemon yoga mats; Manduka blocks, straps blankets; TuneUp balls; light dumbbells; Therabands mini bands; gliders; and Pilates overballs.
Job Overview:
As a Performance Lab Yoga Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a well-rounded, dynamic sequence for up to 30 clients per class. This position requires a strong ability to adapt and teach students of all levels - offering variations to progress for more advanced students as well as modifications for students newer to the practice and/or working with injuries. Classes must start and end on time. Our teachers are expected to teach biomechanics within postures, as well as smooth and safe transitions in and out of postures.
We are looking for someone that has open availability to cover classes currently on the schedule with the possibility to take on permanent classes based on performance. Classes are held Monday-Friday 7:00am-8:30pm; Saturday-Sunday 9:00am-1:00pm.
Job Responsibilities:
Arrive at the studio a minimum of 15-20 minutes prior to class start time.
Create a personal connection with each student.
Create a class experience that shows your personality and skills while adhering to the
Performance Lab standards and guidelines for each of the Studio 2 class types.
Set up Studio 2 appropriately: Candles, Instructors Props/Mat, Music, Lighting.
Provide class instruction focusing on body alignment and mechanics.
Follow up with students after class on FitGrid app.
Reset studio space.
Support the building of community and connection.
• Energize, support, and motivate members throughout their experience.
Qualifications:
500-hour Yoga Alliance Certification preferred. 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification required.
Minimum 2 years in person teaching experience.
Current CPR/AED Certification (needs to be complete before first class taught).
Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
Desire and capacity to train all fitness levels.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be able to sub for permanent classes and have interest in being added to the
schedule.
Applicants are required to pass the first review AND audition.
