Job Posting Title: Human Resource Coordinator ---- Hiring Department: Department of Computer Science ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 ---- FLSA Status: Exempt ---- Earliest Start Date: Immediately ---- Position Duration: Expected to Continue ---- Location: AUSTIN, TX ---- Job Details: Purpose Responsible for coordinating and administering human resources support for the Department of Computer Science. The Human Resource Coordinator applies best practices, professional acumen, and excellent customer service in all HR functional areas. Responsibilities Oversee all departmental HR processes. Support the full employment lifecycle of faculty, staff, students and affiliated workers. Act as an HR Partner, I-9 Partner, Recruiter and Timekeeper in Workday. Assist with onboarding, new-hire orientation, training, and employee inquiries. Coordinate with CS Grant and Administrative teams to create new positions, job postings, and assist with recruiting efforts for staff and research positions. Collaborate with CNS Dean’s Office, Payroll Services, Central HR, Faculty Affairs, International Office, Provost Office and other related offices for all human resource functions. Demonstrate exceptional customer service with both internal and external customers. Oversee employment visa and permanent residency documentation for international scholars. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree plus two years of experience relating to human resources. Previous success working independently and, in a team-oriented, customer service environment. Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to support a wide range of diverse constituencies. Ability to manage a high volume of work assignments under dynamic circumstances while maintaining accuracy, and discretion in dealing with sensitive issues. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a higher education setting working closely with faculty and graduate students. Ability to anticipate the needs of the department proactively and develop systems to streamline processes. Strong Excel, data tracking, and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of Workday and University of Texas employment policies.
