Responsible for the continuing review, research and collection of assigned outstanding accounts receivable. Ensures the assigned accounts are paid and posted correctly and makes recommendations for write-offs to management as appropriate. We are currently recruiting for experienced and tenured candidates that also possess skills with Private Pay collections and/or credentialing experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews, researches and collects all outstanding accounts receivable for assigned payer(s) to include primary, secondary and tertiary insurance claims.
2. Reviews, corrects and resubmits all denials for assigned payer(s).
3. Recognizes appeal opportunities and submits appeal letter along with appropriate documentation to insurance company.
4. Communicate clearly with the Financial Assistance team and satellite offices to facilitate patient collections and drug replacement as appropriate.
5. Reviews accounts for necessary payment refunds and/or charge corrections.
6. Assists patients, payers and internal customers in resolving accounts receivable questions.
7. Ensures payments are posted according to contracts on assigned accounts. Notifies Supervisor/Manager of any contract issues arising from payments received.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent with at least 3 5 years experience in medical billing and collection. Physician practice experience is preferred. ICD & CPT coding experience and Medicare/Medicaid/Insurance guidelines experience also required.
LIST ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OR SKILLS REQUIRED TO INCLUDE LANGUAGE AND EQUIPMENT. Proficient in data entry, billing software and telecommunications equipment. Ten key, fax, printer and copier expertise. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Good organizational skills also needed.
