Description
The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the Food and beverage operations / outlets, while maintaining a profitable operation and high-quality products and service levels. He/she is also expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce associate turnover; maintain revenue; control cost, maintain inventories, and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high. With the expansion of the resort, the role includes pre-opening duties to fulfill the vision of the resort to have a farm-to-table restaurant, 2 bars, and an event space.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
· At least 5 years of progressive hotel F&B experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 3 years of related F&B experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 years of F&B sales experience.
· Management experience required.
· Must have a valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
-Must be skilled in Windows, Excel and Company approved spreadsheets and word processing
Physical requirements:
· Shift and weekend hours sometimes required.
· Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Work environment:
· Indoor and outdoor hotel building, kitchens, banquet areas, rooms, pools, facilities, and structures.
General Requirements
· Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.
· Supervise all F&B personnel for assigned areas.
· Participate in preparing the F&B budget(s) and monitor department performance with respect to the same. Perform any necessary follow-up, including forecasting.
· Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by associates and guests.
· Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
· Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
· Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
· Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
· Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
· Maintain own and associates’ schedules and attendance in compliance with company standards, as required by productivity scheduling, which will vary according to the budget and needs of the hotel.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
· Comply with The Springs Resort and Spa standards and regulation to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
· Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
· Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
· Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
· Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
· Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
· Perform other duties as requested by management.
