Business Development Specialist

While this role will ideally be located in Chicago, we are also open to the possibility of remote work.

The Role:

Our next great team member is a talented and highly motivated Business Development Specialist who will focus on creating new opportunities for growth through generating, identifying and qualifying leads.We are looking for someone who is an "I-Style Communicator" (yes, we've done DISC training) who is a persuasive speaker and loves communicating.
In support of our strategic plan, our new team member will develop and implement outreach strategies, seek out new business opportunities, and create a pipeline of new customers. They will create and use lists and databases from strategic accounts, target campaigns, marketing events and 3rd party services to achieve their lead generation goals. They will also have exploratory conversations with potential customers to determine how The Sound can help their business and successfully position The Sound’s value proposition.
We offer a base hourly rate plus generous performance-based comp. Target comp is over $100k OTE potential which includes base comp and incentive bonus potential. If you want to make an impact by sourcing brands, adding new logos and you strive for great team successes, then please, read on.

  • Do you enjoy research? You will be conducting account-based research based on our contacts on Hub-spot and Linked-in and identifying exceptional new leads to generate leads.
  • Can you conduct needs qualification calls? You're comfortable initiating new client relationships, understanding what we do and why our services are valuable to our target audiences.

  • Are you a fearless hunter who methodically and persistently chases the deal, even if the first answer is no? You’re not intimidated by soliciting, calling on and/or building relationships with decision makers at big and well-known companies.

  • You’re a persuasive speaker and love communicating. Will you get a rush from changing minds and landing appointments?
  • Can you rely on a team? You’re comfortable sending leads to our leadership team to complete the sales cycle.

You’re also a good fit if you demonstrate skills in the following areas (or show potential)…

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a fast-paced outbound sales environment.
  • Intermediate/Advanced verbal and written communication
  • Proficient using Apple and Google products and programs in the work environment
  • Proficient in HubSpot/CRM campaigns, nurture programs, landing pages, marketing emails, for demand generation purposes
  • Industry experience in Market Research, Brand Management or Product innovation
  • Capable of conducting high-volume prospecting to qualify leads through calls, emails and social media.
  • Advanced organizational skills, timeline management, and attention to details to manage workflow
  • Goal and detail-oriented, driven, tenacious and able to meet and exceed monthly/quarterly goals
  • Develop, monitor, test, and optimize programs for all stages of the marketing and sales funnels
