The Line cook is responsible for preparing foods but cutting, chopping, mixing and making sauces using various methods. 

Responsibilities

• Prepares all required items.
• Sets up service units with needed items.
• Serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards.
• Notifies Sous Chef of expected shortages.
• Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
• Assists the Sous Chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen.
• Maintains neat professional appearance and observe personal cleanliness rules at all times.
• Sets up, maintains, and breaks down prep cook station.
• Requisitions items needed to produce menu items.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Covers, dates, and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
• Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by Sous Chef.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred 
• Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume a la carte kitchen.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation practices.
• Ability to communicate and work well under pressure.
• Ability to follow strict recipes.
• Flexible scheduling availability to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic.

• Communicate in the primary language in a clear, concise, grammatically correct, pleasant, and sincere manner. 
• Understand requests and correctly, creatively, and expediently carry them out. 
• Be outgoing, friendly, and patient even after working long hours
• Handle multiple requests with poise, accuracy, and timeliness. 
• Understand and practice the policies of the Company 
• Use good judgment at all times. 
• Work long hours when necessary and be flexible with schedule. Be able to work weekends and nights and holidays, as necessary. 
• Stand and walk for extended hours.
• Lift, carry and push up to fifty pounds and push card weighing from 30 to 250lbs
