The Schuett Companies, Inc. is Hiring a Director of Compliance Near Minneapolis, MN

Overview:
The Director of Compliance (DOC) is responsible for ensuring and maintaining regulatory compliance at all properties managed by The Schuett Companies, Inc,. The ideal DOC will have extensive knowledge of Affordable Housing Multifamily programs and be driven by policies and deadlines. The DOC will report directly to the DPM to ensure that all properties comply with all Federal, State and County rules and regulations.

Core Competencies:

Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal skills

Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity as part of a fast-paced team

Proficient with Microsoft Office systems and ability to learn new systems for communication, data tracking, etc.

Responsibilities & Objectives:

Perform detailed internal audits of tenant files and notify supervisor of file deficiencies for staff corrections within an allotted time frame.

Oversee a portfolio of affordable housing (i.e. LIHTC, HUD) programs.

Annual Reporting: ensure accurate and timely preparation of all annual owner certifications relating to compliance with occupancy and other program requirements in strict accord with IRS, HUD and state agencies.

Monitor and update rent, income limits, and utility allowances charts for all affordable housing properties.

Track and monitor EIV compliance.

Monitor data entry in Yardi (and/or other compliance databases) to assure compliance.

Assist in state file/physical audits and conduct necessary research to prepare a response to the required agency.

Review, prepare and make necessary updates, revisions and/or amendments to policies and departmental procedures, as needed and as required pursuant to necessary regulatory program requirements.

Monitor HUD & state agency websites or newsletters to ensure we are using the most up-to-date forms and policies.

Review, prepare & submit monthly HAP and TRACS files to HUD. Correct file discrepancies or rejected submissions.

Post monthly HAP and tenant rent or lease charges.

Review and approve utility allowance payments.

Prepare and submit vacancy claims.

Prepare and submit rent and/or fee increases to HUD & state agencies.

Work with site managers and accounting department on ledger adjustments.

Assist with HAP contract renewals.

Prepare and submit monthly compliance activity reports to DPM.

Update Affordable Fair Housing Marketing Plans (AFHMP) as they expire.

Review Tenant Selection Plans annually to ensure up to date with HUD and state agency language.

Prepare and Track Fair Housing Coach training for all staff

Organizational Responsibilities:

Meet bi-weekly with DPM for reporting and planning

Participate bi-weekly in leadership meetings

Work cooperatively with all departments and staff to ensure successful operations at every property

Assist with special projects and assignments as directed by DPM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
