The Schochet Companies is currently seeking a Compliance Specialist at our corporate office in Braintree, MA.

A recognized leader in multifamily development and property management, with a special expertise in affordable housing, the Schochet Companies owns and/or manages nearly 5,500 apartments and 50,000 square feet of commercial space throughout New England. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to bring their skills and talent to our exciting and growing company, where you would join a team of the very best professionals working to develop and acquire critical affordable housing (and other multifamily) assets with an eye toward revitalizing and enhancing the marketability, livability, and quality of every community we serve.

The Schochet Companies is looking for an experienced Compliance Specialist as a member of the company's Compliance Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing regulatory compliance support to the company's property management staff in the areas of HUD assisted housing programs, the IRS Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and programs funded through state agencies. The Compliance Specialist will also be responsible to oversee HUDs Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) program to ensure on-site staff are in compliance with the programs requirements including monitoring monthly reports and assisting staff in discrepancy resolution.

3 years of experience with HUDs Project-Based Section 8 and EIV programs and the IRS Section LIHTC program required. Professional certification and experience with YARDI compliance software preferred. Ability to work independently, possessing a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy, flexibility to work on special projects and a team player a must. This position will be located at our corporate office in Braintree, but you will need your own vehicle to travel to different properties in our portfolio as needed.
