QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License and be able to show proof of insurance.
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ previous experience in warehouse setting.
  • Working knowledge of efficient material handling.
  • Working knowledge of retail and thrift store pricing, merchandizing, sales.
  • Supervisory experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule Warehouse employees and volunteers to ensure appropriate coverage for operations.
  • Supervise employees in performance of duties to ensure compliance with published directives and
  • Oversee daily operations and the orderliness of the Warehouse including the donation yard and boxes.
  • Issue disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations and goals as needed in coordination with the Corps Officers.
  • Train new employees, community service partners, and volunteers.
  • Process documents for community service partners or volunteers.
  • Order supplies and maintain accurate inventory of supplies on hand.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.
  • Ensures customer and donor needs are met by maintaining good customer/donor/community relations, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient.
  • Ensure safety measures are established and maintained consistent with Salvation Army policy and that hazards are properly addressed and immediately reported to Corps Officers.
  • Responsible for the protection of customers, employees, property, and building.
  • Implement appropriate loss prevention measures.
  • Coordinate team meetings, safety meetings, and staff training as is appropriate or necessary.
  • Responsible for oversight and intake of donations, including efficient processing, pricing, and supporting the organization of the donations on the Store floor.
  • Ensure the processing room, back lot, and storage facilities are clean, neat, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Oversight of recycling programs, ensuring that recyclable items are being bundled or packaged according to recycling company guidelines. Schedule recycled items for pick up on an as needed basis or in accordance with recycling program guidelines.
  • Training personnel in and scheduling of donation pickups.
  • Sorting, pricing, and checking of appliances, clothing, bric-a-brac, and other merchandise.
  • Other written or verbal duties as may be assigned by the Corps Officers or their designate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Must hold a valid driver’s license, be able to show proof of insurance and have access to a motor vehicle. All drivers must complete and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Check and The Salvation Army’s driver safety course.
