The Salvation Army Golden State Division is Hiring a Janitor - Temporary Near Turlock, CA

OVERVIEW:

The Janitor position works under the supervision of the Corps Officer to assist in cleanliness for the Turlock Corps location. This position is temporary until September 2024.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean the entire building in a continued and regular manner. The entire building’s safety and cleanliness is the responsibility of this position
  • Broken equipment, windows, or damage in the building or on the Corps property is to be reported to the Business Manager or Corps Officer immediately. Suggested solutions for repair and upkeep are encouraged
  • Work independently and make appropriate decisions when the Business Manager or Corps Officer is not available for guidance
  • Mops, buffs, strips, and waxes all tile floors to keep these floors at peak condition. Vacuums carpeted floors regularly
  • Windows are to be washed on a regular basis as it is deemed appropriate by supervision
  • Set up for programs that are happening each day. See that the appropriate number of tables and chairs are in the rooms being used and that they are in the formation requested
  • Drives all equipment and vehicles in a safe and exemplary manner. May be required to drive Corps vehicles taking people or cargo to and from “off campus” locations
  • Perform all above functions and duties in a caring, compassionate, and professional manner at all times
  • All other things requested by management to effectively create a cohesive and cooperative working environment and assist the staff in serving effectively
  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • CA Driver’s license (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Team Player
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Organizational skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Relevant janitorial and maintenance equipment
