Schedule: 40 hours/week, Full Time

Reporting Relationship: Director of Service Extension Department

Salary Grade: $55,000, Exempt 11

Responsibilities

Description of Position:  Provides support and management to staff and volunteers of the Service Extension Programs and Fund Raising in assigned region. Must establish and maintain dedicated office at home. Must be active in local community service and/or church organizations with a knowledge and commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army. A combination of work experience and postsecondary education is preferred. Must be able to travel within the assigned region and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Establish / maintain Fund Raising Service Units in region in collaboration with Community Relations & Development. Monitors existing Service Extension Program within assigned area. Follows strict internal control on funds, funding vehicles, wills, and other legal documents. Liaison between Service Units / DHQ. Recruits, trains, and develops committee chairperson, members, and volunteers. Visits Service Units within assigned area. Assist Service Units in developing their annual budget. Enhances public relations / effective marketing of programs / services provided. Support Service Units with resources / materials for respective communities. Assists development / implementation of Service Unit programs. Attends Service Unit meetings. Attends / recruits volunteers to attend all United Way meetings and be active in community service groups. Provides / maintains accurate records and trains volunteers to do so. Exercises good judgment including contacting Director as counsel is required. Performs related duties as assigned. Ability to work independently and with confidentiality with managerial level problems solving skills, understanding people, finance, and operation to routinely solve mid-level problems. 1-3 years related experience / education. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Valid PA driver’s license with good driving record and able to be an approved driver for The Salvation Army based on their insurance criteria. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check with renewal every five years. • Must understand and have an appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
