Overview

Location: Divisional Headquarters, Finance Department (Hartford, CT)

Status: Non-exempt, Full-time

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Schedule: Mon-Fri; 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Scope & Purpose of Position: Perform accounting and clerical functions within the finance department. Ensure efficient and timely entry of accounts payable, journal entries, and miscellaneous transactions into the accounting software system. Follow all processes and procedures in accordance with accounting and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Be available as back-up for the Data-Entry Clerk in those duties pertaining to the processing of checks as needed.
• Coordinate office supply purchases for finance department.
• Create required reports and worksheets for all appeals.
• Generate appropriate checks for release of income and mail appeal income.
• Prepare and process monthly copy and postage billings to appropriate department.
• Prepare and process necessary journals for billing.
• Process all invoices for payment on a daily basis to inc
• Record all mail appeal income into the accounting system.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting and three years of experience.
• Experience with computerized systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as an integral member of the finance team.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• A positive attitude with a sleeves rolled up approach to teamwork.
• Must complete all required trainings upon hire.
