Job Summary: Implement the special education ARD/IEP process. Collaborate with other professionals and parents in the ARD process. Coordinate, schedule, and participate in ARD meetings to ensure timeline requirements and compliance. Work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Support, mentor, and model best practice instructional strategies and techniques.
2.
Exhibit a strong commitment to improving academic and social achievement for students with disabilities.
3.
Attend division and area facilitator/liaison meetings.
4.
Inform site administration of special education concerns/issues that may be supervisory in nature.
5.
Effectively communicate division procedures and best practices to site administration and staff through regular staff
meetings.
6.
Assist division and area teams, administration, and licensed, and support staff with the effective implementation of federal, state, and local mandates.
7.
Ensure that students with disabilities are receiving free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.
8.
Assist parents in problem-solving and acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to support the development and implementation of their child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
9.
Monitor, on a regularly scheduled basis, confidential folders and IEPs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
10.
Maintain confidentiality and organization of records through observable procedures consistent with division and site.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year, accredited university. Master’s Degree preferred.

Equipment Used: Microsoft Office, Eduphoria, Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier). General Knowledge of accounting procedures, district policies, and school law.
Working/Environmental Conditions/Mental Demands/Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment that does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements. Ability to carry and/or lift less than 20 pounds.
