The Pearl Church is Hiring a Facilities Director Near Denver, CO

Purpose & Summary:

We exist to nurture hearts for God, to be a home for all people, and to be a thriving hub for mission into our community. As the Facilities Director, you'll lead the department and team that stewards the amazing facility that we call home. You will implement plans and policies that ensure the church property is fully operational and in excellent condition for all guests, church family, and staff. You'll play a vital role in ensuring people have a comfortable and meaningful experience in the presence of God when they come to The Pearl Church.

This position is a full-time, 40 hours a week position. In addition to weekday hours, hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on church events. Flexible paid time off plan available.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Leads work of outside contractors and church volunteers
  • Manages the day-to-day workflow of the department to ensure projects are completed in a timely and quality manner
  • Conducts vendor performance evaluations in collaboration with Operations Pastor

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

General Maintenance

  • Performs general repairs and routine maintenance on building
  • Including building repair and minor remodeling, installing fixtures, building furniture, painting interior and exterior building surfaces, etc.
  • Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs
  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance plans for building, grounds, and equipment; identifies and develops plan for repairs utilizing outside contractors as needed
  • Performs seasonal grounds duties including landscaping, snow and ice removal, etc.
  • Maintains overall cleanliness of the property and work areas

Communication & Project Management

  • Acts as liaison with outside contractors; inspects and approves work performed by outside contractors
  • Maintains ongoing dialogue and working relationship with staff to ensure facilities needs and problems are quickly communicated, identified and resolved
  • Researches and estimates costs of facilities projects including costs for labor, equipment, and materials
  • Participates in construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, architectural standards, and contractual requirements

Building Administration

  • Maintains recordkeeping system documenting facility use, maintenance schedules, and any other information required by policy or government agencies
  • Maintains inventory of supplies
  • Ensures safety standards are followed throughout the facility
  • Assists with preparation of the yearly facilities budget and budgets for future building projects
  • Reviews monthly financial reports to ensure department and projects are within budget
  • Assists with event-set up as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Thorough understanding of building design, construction, and maintenance as needed to maintain building, equipment, and all things facilities
  • Thorough understanding of facilities planning principles, best practices, and procedures
  • Thorough understanding of local, state and federal building codes, ordinances, and regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate multiple tasks and projects to ensure each is completed correctly and in a timely manner

Education & Experience:

  • 2 years of related experience in building maintenance or construction required

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and walking throughout the facilities
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and building
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions
