Description

ROLE OVERVIEW 

The IT Technician serves as the primary contact for day-to-day IT functions and provides ongoing, reliable, and efficient technical support to the organization to ensure maximum uptime and usability of systems, hardware, and software. This role works with leaders and employees to mitigate risk, maximize efficiency, solve problems and create solutions to meet the needs of the organization. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user technical assistance and provide on-site and remote setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, network, phones, and peripheral devices and equipment.
  2. Perform first-level troubleshooting and repairs to equipment, prioritize requests, and coordinate major servicing needs with IT vendors and/or various service providers. 
  3. Proactively monitor for IT risks and implement improvement suggestions. Monitor technology and security systems and hardware for needed maintenance and repairs, provide suggestions for and coordinate any necessary repairs, replacements, or needed upgrades.
  4. Responsible for implementing IT best practices, risk management strategies, and COA accreditation standards and guidelines, in conjunction with the Director of Operations. Participate in agency Performance and Quality Improvement initiatives and collaborate with leaders and staff to solve problems and to improve processes and service delivery.
  5. Coordinate with staff and provide support for internal and external meetings and events, both in-person and virtual. Provides support for online meeting hardware and software.
  6. Coordinate and conduct on and off-boarding of staff and fulfill staff change requests. Work with leaders and external IT vendors to manage security groups and set up or terminate accounts and system accesses.
  7. Purchase new equipment, maintain hardware and software inventory, and manage the disposal. Develop training materials, provide on-site orientation, and continual instruction to new users and existing staff on current and new technologies.
  8. Assist in determining the appropriate software and hardware solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The lead rollout of new hardware, software, security measures, and other IT initiatives. 
  9. Prepares and maintains a variety of technical records, reports, and documentation.
  10. Demonstrate the agency values of compassion, respect, learning, adaptability, and achievement. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or three or more years of experience is preferred but not required.
  • Thorough understanding of IT systems and practical applications to support the agency’s goals.
  • Strong active listening skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Experience working with cloud-based productivity and storage options such as Office 365, OneCloud, SharePoint, and Google Drive. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with different levels and teams within the agency. 
  • Embraces collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
