The front of the house (FOH) manager or maître d' is the public face of our restaurant. They’re expected to interact with our customers and establish relationships quickly for better customer retention. They keep track of all events in the restaurant and should be able to switch to damage-control mode in a heartbeat.

In a single night, they may have to handle customer disputes, manage employees, and keep track of the reservation list. Our FOH manager needs to have excellent time-management skills, because they often need to multitask during their workday. They’re entrusted to keep the entire customer-facing part of the restaurant running smoothly, regardless of any emergencies or obstacles that may arise throughout the day. They report directly to the General Manager. This is a fun, exciting, fast paced place to work. As a locally owned business there is a lot of opportunities to advance in our growing business! Posted pay includes incentives, bonuses and tips. Shifts include mostly evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting FOH employees
• Booking reservations
• Greeting customers
• Providing general customer service
• Assigning tables to the waitstaff
• Answering customer/staff questions
• Solving problems as they arise
• Soliciting feedback from both staff and customers
• Ensuring cleanliness in restaurant/bathrooms
• Coordinating with valets to ensure timely pickups/drop-offs
• Directing vendors to appropriate sections of the restaurant

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Customer service/interpersonal skills
• Prior experience in the restaurant industry
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time
• Excellent time-management skills
• Basic knowledge of industry standards

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Vocational or hospitality training
• Prior FOH training/experience
