Position Title: Business Analyst 
Position Overview: 
The Business Analyst will join a small dynamic team within The New Home Company’s IT Department. This individual will have primary responsibility to meet with business users and document current issues and design and develop solutions to resolve these issues. They will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolution of issues from business system users and will also provide advanced level support to application users, including ongoing training and coordination with developers to correct any problems or enhance current application. 
Ideal candidate will have 3 years software application support experience within IT environment and strong communication skills. Candidate will have proven experience in dealing with business customers. Experience with homebuilding, mortgage, or finance applications is a plus. 
Duties will Include:  

• Provide Tier I and Tier II support for users of internal and external business systems.
• Train end-users in the use of applications and/or enhancements (this includes: one-on-one, web based and classroom training).
• Establish and document procedures for the best practices of system use.
• Coordinate application conversions by establishing and maintaining conversion project plans that clearly identify conversion tasks, responsible parties, and due dates.
• Fully understand and document user requests for system enhancements. Research issues or user requests prior to involving technical resources.
• Act as liaison between system users and technical staff, using a broad knowledge of user requirements and application designs and practices.

Candidates Will Need to Meet the Following Qualifications:  

• 3 - 5 years of software application support experience within IT environment
• 1 – 3 years of Business Analyst experience
• Proven experience in dealing with business customers, collecting requirements, and documenting requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of TSQL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) a plus
• Experience with project management methodology a plus
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Effective team player
