Through networks, training, and pathways, veterans can continue to serve while creating meaningful impact in under-resourced communities. THE OPPORTUNITYThe Mission Continues is looking for a Software Developer to help join our digital transformation by implementing various technology solutions outlined in our IT Road Map. The Technology Team is amid migrating our cloud services from several disparate systems into one Enterprise Management System. The team is seeking an innovative thinker that can systematically prioritize and implement technology solutions that empower our staff, veterans and volunteers to make an impact in underrepresented communities. This position includes full stack development and administration of our Amazon Web Service infrastructure, WordPress, Salesforce API (Application Programming Interface), Salesforce Mobil Publisher Applications and other third-party application integration within the website and other digital communication channels. The Software Developer is responsible for database integration with our CRM (Customer Relationship Management), data integrity, data automation, system maintenance, analytics, and performance monitoring. Additionally, the Software Developer is responsible for the overall user experience (UX) and is constantly analyzing our ecosystem for trends to find ways to better engage our veterans, volunteers, and supporters. The Software Developer will work with all departments and will serve as the primary technology resource to our External Affairs team acting as a thought partner and project manager that is dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate is passionate about our mission to serve veterans and is capable of innovating, prioritizing, and supporting a fast paced, diverse community in over 40 cities. This person needs to be highly flexible and willing to solve complex problems while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and customer service possible. We pride ourselves on being design thinkers and focusing our efforts on our internal team members and volunteers. This person must be willing to establish connections with key stakeholders and nurture a culture of innovation. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: System Engineering and Architecting - Designs and ensures the architecture of technology systems are consistent with our needs and understands how solutions are used to meet the needs of our veterans.- Develops and performs customization of the Salesforce platform using Apex, VisualForce, Lightning Web Components, Mobile App Publisher, and Aura components.- Directs and oversees the integration of multiple systems with Salesforce, including internal proprietary and third-party applications using custom REST end points. - Creates and develops Apex classes and triggers to support workflow automation and ease of use for staff and volunteers use of Salesforce. - Standardizes software development documentation and technical project management for application update and release cycles. Project Management and Collaboration - Manages change management and system implementation projects across all departments by coordinating sequence of activities, timelines, establishing consistent, transparent communication and providing the resources necessary for teams to achieve their milestones and goals. - Works with cross functional teams to identify new and creative opportunities to leverage the tech ecosystem to support additional business processes, automation, or functions.Performance Management and Digital Analytics - Conducts regular maintenance, system upgrades and performance monitoring of all web services to ensure optimal performance. - Oversees the cybersecurity program and digital authentication for all web applications. - Responsible for maintaining/supporting our Amazon Web Service cloud infrastructure, SES, Media Cloud, and other applications. - Responsible for the backup and recovery of web services, web servers, databases, and digital assets across all digital platforms. Research and Development - Acts as an internal resource to other teams that explores and investigates creative ways to harness technology and offers recommendations to advance initiatives. - Keeps abreast of latest web technologies, certifications and offers suggestions for the continuous improvement and maintenance of computer systems. - Documents technology specifications and requirements that can be used to identify technology gaps and potential solutions. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: - A technologist with at least 5 years of experience in development, system engineering, system administration, web administration, system design or UX/UI software development.- 2 years of Experience with Apex, VisualForce, Lightning Web Components, Mobile App Publisher, and or equivalent certifications. - 2 years of experience with Amazon Web Services. - Experience managing vendors/partners to implement or develop software applications externally. - Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize multiple simultaneous requests, manage laterally and upwards, and do it all with a professional and courteous attitude. - The ability to provide instruction to audiences of varying technical backgrounds. - Lifelong learner that is not afraid of a challenge and is always willing to expand their knowledge base. - Someone that is not afraid of a challenge and is always willing to expand their knowledge base. - Collaborator that enjoys working with teams and is 100% customer oriented. - Creative thinker that is not afraid to take calculated risks and is always willing to exchange ideas. - Excellent Microsoft Office, Windows/Mac OSX, and Google Apps skills - Passion and commitment to serving this generation of veterans PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Salesforce Administrator Certification - Certifications in the latest cloud computing technologies - Microsoft, Salesforce, Google, Azure, AWS, etc. - Full Stack Developer Certification - Comfort level with Fluency in Apex and Java - A breadth and depth of knowledge and interest in the history and future of database management, cloud computing, and web development TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Must have the ability to travel to multiple cities throughout the United States , approximately 6 times per year for 1-2 number of days per week. Multi-day and/or weekend travel will be required on program event dates, which occurs on weekends 1-4 times a year.
