Job Summary

The Market at Grelen is a casual café, garden shop, nursery, pyo farm, & event venue. We are currently looking to fill full & part-time positions in the Casual Café & Garden Shop.

This person must be flexible, organized, upbeat, professional, trustworthy, and have a positive attitude while working well with others. Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred but not required. Associates have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the café food & beverage menus while gaining information on Virginia beer, cider, & wine.

As a casual café, garden shop, nursery, pyo farm, & event venue there is room for growth within the company.

Responsibilities and Duties

• open and close the cafe/shop
• greet guests with an upbeat attitude
• run registers
• organize and restock supplies/beverages/merchandise
• serve guests with a positive attitude
• clear tables
• keep the café/shop clean
• keep merchandise displays looking fresh
• inventory management

Qualifications and Skills

• Weekend availability is essential.
• Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds.
• Virginia beer, cider, & wine knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in the retail or restaurant industry is preferred.
• Sales experience a preferred but not necessary
• Ability to up-sell is a plus
• Ability to multi-task is essential
