Job Description:
The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, Montana's only AAA Four Diamond resort, is seeking Valet Attendants - does not require a CDL
Our guest service team provides outstanding levels of service to our diverse and worldly guests, acting as ambassadors of the Lodge and all that Northwest Montana offers. Join a passionate team of hospitality professionals in a dynamic, busy and fun environment.
A valid Montana driver's license and excellent driving record are required. A strong base of local knowledge is preferred.

Interacts with guests in a courteous and efficient manner, an eye for detail and high job standards. English verbal communication skills; second language a plus.
Previous bell person or valet experience is preferred, however; hotel-related or face-to-face customer service experience is also helpful.
Job Responsibilities: • Create excitement through guest interaction and conversation.
  • Delivers four-star service by accurately escorting arriving guests to rooms, handle baggage transfers, and accommodate guests’ special requests.
  • Perform same functions when guests depart.
  • Act as valet attendant as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a team player with entire hotel staff.
  • Must be courteous, friendly and able to represent the hotel professionally to hotel guests.
  • Must be knowledgeable on the various types of rooms and amenities that are available at the hotel, as well as the activities and services available.
  • Must be very familiar with the local attractions in the surrounding areas in order to comfortably make recommendations and give directions.
  • Must be service-oriented and actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Active listener; gives full attention to what others are saying and takes time to understand the points being made while asking appropriate questions and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Ability to write effectively as appropriate for the needs of teammates and guests.
  • This is a rewarding and physically demanding job. Candidates must be able to perform the required duties of a valet attendant (jogging, long periods of being on feet, extended periods of being outdoors in all types of weather, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requirements and Core Competencies - • Problem-solving rationalizing
  • Knows room locations and types of rooms available.
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to promote services of the hotel.
  • Uses proper telephone etiquette per lodge standards.
  • Uses proper mail, package and message handling procedures.
  • Flexible to work varying schedules.
  • Able to operate a manual transmission.
  • Reads and initials the pass-on log and bulletin board daily. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
  • Attends department and staff meetings.
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the bell and valet areas.
  • Understands and is flexible with the possibility that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
  • Good driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years; no DUI, DWI, reckless driving, or suspended/revoked license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and handles food/materials/chemicals according to HACCP standards and procedures.
  • Profitability – Makes a conscientious effort to help minimize waste of food product, equipment and supplies to increase profitability of the property as a whole.
Physical Requirements: • Lift up to 75 pounds
  • Perform bending, stooping, kneeling, couching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping.
