Junior Accountant
Shift: Part-time – 10 hours per week (flexible schedule within business hours). Requires onsite work (The Leonardo: 209 E 500 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84111)
Summary: Our Junior Accountant is responsible to provide accurate and timely support to the Finance team as needed with the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts receivables / scan checks for deposits and support full-cycle accounts payables
- Maintain weekly/monthly bank reconciliations and monthly revenue reconciliations
- Verify new contractor documentation, processing contractor inquiries and maintaining contractor file, process 1099’s
- Assist in month-end closing and the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with credit applicants & credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accounting-related spreadsheets
- Assist in administrative duties for the office such sorting/distributing mail and filing documents
- Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Related experience or pursuing a degree in Accounting required, preferably experience in the nonprofit industry.
- Uncompromising integrity, discretion, and strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to build rapport cross-functionally through effective communication.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks and advanced MS Excel proficiency.
- Critical-thinking aptitude, able to identify and proactively resolve discrepancies/miscalculations
- Meticulous attention to detail
