Best Day Ever Project Director - The Learning Lamp

Initially started with the mission to provide access to high quality tutoring without the high price tag, our organization has grown, minimizing education and care disparities for children through child care, tutoring, and more. We are an integral part of the communities we serve, providing much needed support for families, schools, and children.

We are looking for Project Director for our Best Day Ever Program.

  • Developing and designing Best Day Ever lesson plans for use across Pennsylvania;
  • Overseeing marketing plan and expansion of Best Day Ever; and
  • Ensuring high quality lessons are developed to support The Learning Lamp's mission of engaging all children in the support they need to succeed.

What are the primary duties and responsibilities?

  • Design Best Day Ever! lesson plans for distribution
  • Work with content developers to ensure graphics accurately reflect lesson plans
  • Complete projects with children and get high quality pictures for in lesson plans
  • Ensure formatting is accurate and universal for all lesson plans
  • Work with Pre-Apprenticeship Program Manager on marketing plan and expansion of Best Day Ever distribution
  • Complete a monthly and quarterly summary report of all activities, submit to supervisor
  • Present to organization interested in using Best Day Ever!
  • Develop and implement a work plan based on geographic scope
  • Develop a deep understanding of academic standards
  • Seek opportunity to expand, market, and implement Best Day Ever! regionally and nationally
  • Seek opportunities to sustain the Best Day Ever! program
  • Work with CEO, Executive Director, CFO, PDE, and PDO to provide supports, as necessary, to advance next steps in development of Best Day Ever!

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education with a teaching certificate (other education degrees and certifications may be considered with applicable experience).
  • Knowledge of child development and lesson plan development.
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to go through (and pass!) the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: four clearances, mandated reporter training, CPR Certification, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week.
  • Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
  • Ability to travel between sites to observe children and meet with staff and families.
