POSITION SUMMARY:
The bookkeeper is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the Staff Accountant and Chief Financial Officer. Accurately recording day-to-day financial transactions for the League. Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly billing and invoices. Other special projects as requested.
EXPECTED RESULTS: The efforts of this position should result in - 1. All funds receivable and payable are timely and accurately recorded in the League’s GL system. 2. monthly billings are completed in a timely manner, 3. Research and resolve denied claims and monitor outstanding accounts receivable balance.

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS and DEMANDS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: An associate degree in accounting or business and/or bookkeeping experience with solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles are required. Experience with utilizing accounting software, Microsoft office 365, and Microsoft Excel are a plus. Familiar with third party payroll software is preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports business letters, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, and ratios.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the essential functions of this of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to independently operate, or learn to operate a TTY, voice phones, League office equipment (such as copy/fax machine), the League’s computer network and software.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee typically works in the League’s office environment. The noise level in this work environment is usually low.
WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS: Must be available for work during regularly scheduled business hours. Must be available evenings and weekends as work demands require.
