Overview

The Human Resources Department seeks an undergraduate intern to assist with the various duties of our fast-paced department. The intern will have an opportunity to cycle throughout the department, working with different staff mentors to gain an overall understanding of the operations of a Human Resources Office. This is a paid internship.

Responsibilities

• Create employee Files
• Create Payroll Action Notices
• Process changes in HRIS
• Work with Human Resources team to create job descriptions and job postings
• Prepare documents and reports as needed
• Assist with Open Enrollment Strategy
• In conjunction with other HR Professionals, may respond to requests for employment verification information, court orders, subpoenas for employee information, and other relevant information
• Support specific HR events, which may include event planning, room reservations, coordinating with the catering department, marketing and communication and onsite support during the events
• Assist with online research of various HR topics
• Respond to human resources inquiries via email, walk-in, and phone in a friendly and professional manner, with diplomacy and confidentiality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Current undergraduate student in Human Resources or a related field
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate well within a diverse academic community
• Tech-savy. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google 
• Ability to maintain a professional and confidential atmosphere within the School
• Must be highly motivated, self-directed, and achievement-oriented
