The Langham, Boston is Hiring a Director of Revenue Management Near Boston, MA

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: 

To maximize overall hotel revenue and market share, while balancing profitability through the use of effective revenue management practices and data-driven business decisions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES: 

  • Lead the decision-making role for property pricing and distribution; maximize room revenue and market share through a thorough understanding of all booking channels and inventory management.
  • Leverage Revenue Management technologies, processes, tools and training programs to optimize hotel revenue by effective application of revenue management practices. 
  • Champion the utilization of IDeaS G3 to the benefit of the hotel and revenue management practices.
  • Liaises with hotel Marketing team to ensure regular updates of content on booking engine and OTAs including images and descriptions of hotel, room brands, outlets and services are completed.
  • Lead Revenue Management meetings in accordance with LHG standards.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly demand forecasts with accuracy variance goal of 5% or less.
  • Perform key role in short-term and long-term strategic plans including annual snapshot and budget process.
  • Work with DOSM and Sales Team members to encourage strategic selection of the right piece of business, in keeping with LHG guidelines.
  • Tracking and analysis of competitive set pricing and yield strategies, gaining the ability to predict the comp set reaction to changes in the marketplace.
  • Develop relationships with key market managers at top producing OTAs.
  • Monitor, coach and supervise Reservations Manager and Reservations Team.
  • Develop and cultivate revenue management culture across departments.
  • Work with Director of Catering and Director of Food & Beverage to develop strategies to maximize revenue in all areas of the hotel.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure flawless execution and participate in solving problems with other departments.

  • Perform activities requiring sustained concentration, e.g. training, designing, and planning work.
  • Use non-verbal/visual sources of information, e.g. reference graphs, tables.
  • Use electronic and oral communication to perform work, e.g. answer telephone, greet visitors, and conduct in person and virtual meetings, client entertaining and domestic and international travel.
  • Prompt and systematic decision making skills and, prioritizing workload.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills for working with third party partners and the internal marketing with an executive team.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of sales, work schedule may vary to reflect the business needs of the hotel/clients. 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE /LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES / REQUIRED: 

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel revenue management.
  • Proficient in IDeaS G3 Revenue Management System, Opera, Synxis, TravelClick Demand 360/Agency 360/Rate 360, Delphi, OTA Extranets, STR, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
