Casino Floor Attendant Job Description

The Landmark Casino is a new casino property opening in Deadwood soon. We offer competitive pay and an attractive benefits package including bonusing, retirement matching, and 2 weeks paid time off in the first year.

No experience necessary. Paid training.

$17/hour and up plus tips, depending on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Casino Floor Attendant is responsible to diligently ensure that all guests entering the property are at least 21 years of age and for providing quality service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while displaying a high level of customer service.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a high level of customer service and promote a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and team members.
  • Diligently monitor the casino floor and request valid identification to ensure that all customers are at least 21 years of age.
  • Continually educates and answers guests’ questions about gaming machine functions and payouts; accurately informs guests of the benefits of the rewards card and promotes the loyalty program.
  • Learns and uses guests’ names and preferences (particularly for frequent guests) to create personal connections and a welcoming environment.
  • Constantly display a poised, professional, smiling image.
  • Enthusiastically promotes departmental and property-wide promotions with all guests.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Participates in jackpot payout process in accordance with internal/department control procedures when necessary.
  • Notifies Supervisor or above of any machine malfunctions.
  • Notifies Supervisor or above of jackpot wins, guest disputes, guest needs and requests.
  • Notifies Supervisor or above of any suspicious activity.
  • Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with slot technicians and other staff on the gaming floor to meet guests’ needs.
  • Strictly adhere to company policies and gaming regulations in accordance with the South Dakota Commission on Gaming.
  • Greet guests at entrances and request identification to verify all entering are at least 21 years of age.
  • Assist Floor Supervisor in casino activities including but not limited to ATM/Kiosk fills.
  • Monitor and correct minor machines malfunctions, including changing paper and bill validator jams.
  • Ensure control/protection of company assets.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of slot floor by clearing empty cups, bottles, glasses, trash and other debris and pushes in slot chairs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides highest level of personalized attention and guest service.
  • Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
  • Diligently monitors the casino floor and requests valid identification to ensure that all customers are at least 21 years of age.
  • Strictly adheres to company policies and gaming regulations in accordance with the South Dakota Commission on Gaming.
  • Enrolls customers into players club and assists customers in using their club card and free play.
  • Keeps the property clean, attractive, and safe.
  • Safeguards assets of the company.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Support or Key License with the South Dakota Commission on Gaming. https://dor.sd.gov/individuals/gaming/

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Experience in casino gaming operations, customer service, or hospitality a plus
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

ABILITIES & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on a daily basis, walk to various areas of the casino, and be able to push, pull or move heavy objects with assistance.
  • Work environment may include variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, nights, and holidays based on business needs.
