How you can make a bigger difference:The Director of Nursing Services is responsible for promoting the integration of physical and behavioral health for agency consumers in program without and with direct healthcare providers; responsible for oversight, consultation and leadership support for health care (primarily nursing) supervisors and staff across agency programs; and responsible for assisting agency programs in meeting regulatory standards of care.Responsibilities include: Establishing and supporting health and wellness perspectives in all agency service delivery settings using a continuous quality improvement lens Collaborating work with programs without primary care staff to inform practice, assisting in collaborations with community health providers and providing brief consultations on cases requiring medical interventions Overseeing the dissemination of health and wellness literature and supports, including a health literacy curriculum, health announcements and alerts of relevance to staff and client wellness Interfacing with external medical and health related partners including Pediatricians, Primary Care Practitioners, Pharmacies, Labs, Hospitals towards agency practice growth Preparing and standardizing practice where injectable are used. Creating and delivering training to staff to promote client wellness through a recovery oriented and data driven lens Providing support and leadership in the establishment and maintenance of standards for nursing staff at programs where nurses are employed, through direct and indirect levels of supervision Participating in review of agency health policies, preparation for and responses to audits; Collaborative work with programs with primary care staff to ensure best practice Participating in Netsmart myAvatar build, use, and quality measures development and tracking Assisting in providing supervision of medical services and nursing staff when there are vacancy in nursing supervision Responsible for formulating and implementing new nursing/medical strategies related to but not limited to; patient care, staff safety in their work environments, and collaborates with Facility leadership to ensure that environmental settings in the agency are safe for both staff and patients. Supporting agency doctors and nurses with delivering services to uphold best practices that deliver professional standards of care to our patients. Monitoring the maintenance of standards and identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement and change management related to these standards. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsThe Jewish Board is currently looking for talented Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, or other nursing practitioner, of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications: Experienced as a community practitioner and manager; Must be able to work independently and use public transportation in all five boroughs Experience with behavioral health population and quality improvement processes; At least 4 years’ experience supervising clinical and systems practices; Experience working with electronic medical records and proficient with use of Microsoft Office software.
