Lead Bartender
Hourly-Full-Time
Work Location: In-Person
Reports to: Director of Food and Beverage
Job Description:
· Serves as a leader for the activities of the Food & Beverage team.
· Assist in the mixology for the bar.
· High levels of interaction with all members of team. Exchanging ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate programs and arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions and solutions.
· Assists in training new hires and associates as directed by F&B Manager or F&B Director.
· Works in support of team goals.
· Serves as a source of guidance to all bartender staff members.
· Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner.
· Be familiar with the menus, including preparation, ingredients, and description.
· Be familiar with the beverage list, including glassware used.
· Follow the established procedures to ensure knowledgeable, correct, and efficient order taking.
· Prepare and service beverages for servers and guests in a speedy, efficient, and professional manner.
· Ensure that proper procedures are followed according to the law.
· Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with the appropriate items.
· Great wine and food knowledge.
· Able to work well unsupervised and ability to work alone.
· Demonstrate a high degree of drive and determination.
· Constantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operation.
· Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times.
· Attend all required meetings.
· Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
· Properly handle and report associate and guest accidents.
· Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental polices/service procedures/standards.
· Assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management.
· Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate.
· Partake in a positive work ethic and surrounding environment
· Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Fundamental Requirements:
· Continuous standing and walking.
· Negotiating wet tile floor, steps, and varied floor surfaces.
· Fine motor coordination is needed to pour beverages, decorate cocktails and folding.
· Lifting and carrying 30 lbs.
· Carrying over shoulder is occasional.
· Hand and elbow movements.
· Excellent sight and balance needed for negotiating varied floor surfaces.
· Ability to handle hot items.
· Excellent speech and sight.
· Ability to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (10 degrees F) and kitchens ( 110 degrees F), possible for one hour or more
Job Requirements:
· Must have a high school education or equivalent experience.
· Have current Bartender’s License from the city of Milwaukee.
· Minimum of 2 years of food and beverage experience.
· Previous mixology experience required.
· Computer skills helpful but not required.
· Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
