The Investment Center Inc is Hiring a Business Development Specialist Near Bedminster, NJ

**THIS IS A OFFICE POSITION LOCATED IN BEDMINSTER, NJ - NOT A REMOTE POSITION**

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving financial advisor lead flow and setting appointments for the Investment Center's (TIC) Director of Business Development. This will be done through prospecting, lead qualification, and effective reporting. The Specialist also assists with branch recruiting, home office visits and transition tasks.

Primary prospecting efforts will be phone bases (cold calling) with supplemental efforts using digital means (email campaigns and social media). The Business Development Associate will report to the Director of Business Development.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and articulate TIC's value proposition, general policies, competitive landscape, the financial services industry, and the benefits of joining TIC
  • Use the news cycle and direction of the Director of Business Development to execute on weekly prospecting campaigns
  • Prospect financial advisors to gauge and create interest in meeting with the Director of Business Development
  • Use independent judgement to qualify a lead and determine if the lead should be introduced to the pipeline by presenting to the Director of Business Development
  • Use Salesforce to track and report on recruiting activity with diligent follow-up
  • Work with branch managers to develop and implement recruiting plans and consistent reporting on progress
  • Facilitate process to on-board new/junior advisors into existing branches
  • Host and facilitate advisor home office visits providing timely meeting notes
  • Participate in the TIC Recruiting team's transition calls, documenting transition progress in Salesforce
  • Bring new ideas and proposals to the team to increase lead/recruiting activity
  • Weekly reporting of leads and branch recruiting results
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and 1:1's with Director of Business Development
  • Participate in local conferences to network and establish relationships
  • Develop skill set and knowledge-based industry experience in order to excel at the role and to qualify for career growth opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or related experience
  • Series 6 or 7 preferred
  • 2 years in a sales related role; financial services experience required
  • Highly motivated and resilient by achieving weekly/month targets consistently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Ability to quickly build rapport, primarily via phone-based communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, internal teams, branch manager and vendors
  • Schedule flexibility: mostly standard business hours, however time zones may impact working hours
  • MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, CRM experience (Salesforce preferred), MS Outlook
