Position Purpose:
The IT SR Project Manager is part of The Home Depot's (THD) ePMO team and plays a lead role in the successful delivery of projects. The purpose of this position is to provide effective management of large ($3 - 15M or more) IT projects, or oversee the management of multiple smaller projects being managed by Project Managers or Project Analysts. This is accomplished by applying or ensuring the application of a standard, defined methodology to the project, and providing the leadership skills necessary to control the execution of the project tasks, as defined in the methodology. The senior project manager is responsible for delivering several key project artifacts, and shares responsibility and accountability with the project leadership team for the successful delivery of the entire project. The senior project manager may also assist the program manager and the VP with long range planning activities, and for communicating status to the IT VP's on all of the projects that IT is accountable for.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
20%-Project Planning. Leads and creates the project planning effort, including the formulation of the project scope, definition of the project deliverables and the required delivery dates, creation of a logical work breakdown structure, definition of major project milestones, accumulation of all project cost and benefit estimates.
25%-Project Financials. Responsible to ensure that a project forecast is created for all projects that aligns to the project budget. Ensures that weekly financials status reports are created and analysis/reconciliation is completed by project managers. Inform Program Manager of variances that would impact the budget.
15%-Project Control & Risk Management. Develops or approves an effective plan for controlling the project scope, schedule and cost baseline, and monitors the project execution. Identifies project risks and mitigation approaches. Advises project team members, stakeholders and senior leadership of risks and mitigation plans.
15%-Project Communications. Develops or approves an effective plan for communicating project information to the project team and stakeholders. Develops status reports, determines project status codes, and creates project review documents for senior management. Collects and documents project issues, and manages timely resolution.
15%-Resource Management. Manages a team of Project Managers/Project Analysts. Ensures they are adequately trained, and performing at the required level. Responsible for guiding and directing the overall success of the projects in their portfolio.
10%-Project Lessons Learned & Project Environment. At the completion of a project, captures lessons learned, and communicates those findings to the team. Ensures lessons learned are effectively applied to subsequent projects. Shares responsibility with the project leadership team for providing a good working environment.

This position has 2 direct reports.
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

5 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of related experience.
• Bachelor degree, MS a plus or equivalent (e.g., CPA, PE, etc.).
• PMP certification
• MS Project and office tools
