The Holdsworth Center is Hiring a Program Coordinator Near Austin, TX

Program Coordinator

The Holdsworth Center seeks a Program Coordinator who believes in the promise of public schools to deliver excellent and equitable results for students, and who believes their unique skills and inner purpose would be a great match for Holdsworth’s mission, culture, and values.

Our organization & mission

Driven by the belief that teachers and students thrive with great leadership, The Holdsworth Center builds stronger leaders for Texas public schools. Founded as a nonprofit in 2017 by H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt, Holdsworth provides world-class leadership development programs and services within districts and at its Campus on Lake Austin, a one-of-a-kind place dedicated to the idea that public education holds worth.

Our founder Charless Butt believes educators deserve rigorous professional learning in a world-class setting and envisioned the Campus as a gift to hardworking educators and a testament to the importance of public schools. The serene and peaceful setting allows teams of educators to step back from the day-to-day and see their challenges and opportunities more clearly.

Our work

Leadership is not a skill people are born with—it can be taught. That’s why we offer world-class leadership programs, coaching and other services unparalleled in the education field.

In our programs, superintendents, principals, teachers and other educational leaders engage with some of the nation’s top experts in their fields from a variety of sectors, including preK-12 and higher education, government and business.

In some of our partner districts, we embed Holdsworth consultants to work hand-in-hand with central office leaders to define what great leadership looks and help them build custom solutions to identify and develop future campus leaders, place them in leadership roles and support them as they progress in their leadership journey.

Our culture & values

We have three core values at Holdsworth: Drive for Excellence & Equity, Be of Service and Believe in People. Our values flow from the vision and beliefs of our founder, Charles Butt, and guide our daily words and actions, bringing meaning to the work we do.

Purpose & Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator will work in a team led by the Managing Director of Campus Programs with the Senior Director of Campus Programs and Lead Learning Designers to coordinate the high-quality delivery of a portfolio of learning sessions that serve campus leaders. This portfolio will include our Campus Leadership Program (CLP), a world-class leadership development program for principals and campus teams that blends the best practices in leadership from inside and outside the education sector. You must have a strong desire to help leaders in our programs thrive in their careers and lead their schools effectively. We are looking for individuals who share our passion for developing leadership in public education in order to improve the life chances of all students.

As Program Coordinator, your job will be to support the delivery of high-quality learning sessions through project management, communication, event coordination and planning and implementing all operations and logistics of program sessions. You will help the team deliver high quality sessions that engage learners, advance the work in their schools, and create network bonds. You will be a “go-to” person for leaders during and in-between sessions, ensuring that their learning journey is as effective and enjoyable as possible. Some evenings and weekends will be required when we are implementing learning sessions – most often at the Campus at Lake Austin, with some travel expected to support sessions and events held at other venues on occasion.

You will work with talented, mission driven peers in a fast paced, dynamic environment to:

  • Build positive, productive professional relationships with leaders in our programs and provide outstanding customer service and support; resolve issues and concerns, managing risks appropriately and escalating where necessary
  • Support and maintain key relationships with program faculty
  • Oversee and execute logistics for coordinating and delivering all operational facets of learning sessions, from leader enrollment process to training sessions to leveraging the Learning Management Sustem for cohort learning
  • Work closely with the programs team and event and hospitality staff at The Campus on Lake Austin to determine details of events, such as giest lists, invitations, agendas, registration, menus, décor, A/V requirements, layout of meeting rooms, materials required, work orders, etc., and obtain final event approval on all proposals
  • Ensure setup for events is accurate and on time, greet guests and attend and assist at all designated events to ensure smooth delivery
  • Prep and manage all materials needed for learning sessions (hand-outs, supplies, etc) Manage all aspects of project management logistics for your portfolio of sessions – including creating project plans in Asana and drafting and maintaining cohort calendars and rosters
  • Draft clear and compelling communications from the team to faculty, staff and leaders
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to manage accurate participant data, including attendance data and enrollment information
  • Engage in regular monitoring, evaluating and reporting, including creating session surveys and preparing data reports for the team
  • Execute administrative duties for the team including accounting/reconciling credit card, supplies, scheduling meetings, and invoicing of contractors
  • Analyze the operational efficiency of the team and proactively create systems and solutions for greater team efficiency

You're a strong candidate if the following attributes describe you:

  • You have strong alignment with our organizational values- Drive for Excellence & Equity, Be of Service, Believe in People
  • You have superb organizational and time management skills, the ability to independently manage multiple events at one time at a rapid pace and a demonstrated ability to be thorough. You spot details that others miss.
  • You have significant work experience in event preparation and execution, training delivery or relevant field
  • You get excited about helping a team stay on track, on time, and finding increasingly efficient ways to do work.
  • You’re comfortable working both independently and working in close collaboration with other team members. You can establish good rapport at all levels of the organization, collaborate with other faculty and experts and work with and relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • You’re an excellent project manager; you can organize all the pieces of a large effort from beginning to end while attending to the big picture and all of the details, with a focus on both relationships and results.
  • You’re skilled at navigating a variety of technology platforms. Some of our systems include MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Salesforce, Qualtrics, and Asana. It’s okay if you don’t have experience in these exact systems, but you should feel confident in your ability to quickly learn and become skilled at using new technology applications.
