The Good Earth School is Hiring a Preschool Teacher Near Berkeley, CA

The Good Earth School is a unique nature-based preschool. We are looking for a qualified Assistant Preschool Teacher that we can groom into a prominant role by August 2023. Our preschool teachers must have a great love and patience for children and must love outdoor activities with children. Qualifications needed: 12 ECE units, knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage the children and earn their trust and attention. Must thrive in a team environment.. we have great staff chemistry and we are looking to add a solid member to our team.

Pay rate is negotiable based on experience and credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop or assist in developing a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (hiking, nature exploration, storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
  • Track children’s progress and report to parents
  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
  • Collaborate with other educators
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher or Aide
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Certification in child CPR
  • Valid Childcare license and/or 12 ECE units to practice profession

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
