The Episcopal School of Dallas Inc is Hiring a Digital Communications Manager Near Dallas, TX

Description

The Episcopal School of Dallas prepares young men and women for lives of intellectual discovery, integrity, and purpose. Built upon our Founding Tenets of Daily Worship, Community, Ethical Decision-Making, and Service, ESD is committed to the intellectual, spiritual, and physical wellness of every member of its community.

Founded in 1974 by The Reverend Stephen B. Swann with eight seventh-grade students, today ESD educates and inspires 1,150 students in grades beginner (age 3) through grade 12. ESD is located in Dallas, a modern metropolis of North Texas, and a commercial and cultural hub in the region.
At the heart of ESD are talented and compassionate faculty and staff who are the backbone of our institution and paramount to the school’s success. They adeptly balance rigorous, college preparatory coursework with understanding and nurturing of the whole child. Classes are small, with an overall student-teacher ratio of 7:1. ESD employees are lifelong learners, and the school invests nearly $500,000 in professional development annually. More than 250 serve the ESD community and all are appreciated and respected for their individual and collective contributions.

Purpose: Working closely with members of the communications, admission, athletics, fine arts, and advancement teams, the Digital Communications Manager is responsible for maintaining and implementing best practices for ESD’s website(s) and portals. As the keeper of our digital front door, the DCM contributes substantially to ESD’s mission-critical efforts to attract and retain the best possible community members across all constituencies. 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage ESD’s primary website, portals, and any subsites implementing best practice strategies and ongoing content production
  • Create, innovate, and launch video, photography, stories, and campaigns that engage key audiences
  • Curate and send weekly parent emails
  • Partner with internal clients, such as but not limited to admission, athletics, development, fine arts, parents’ association groups, and college guidance, to develop and elevate content to engage target audiences further
  • Measure and evolve ESD’s digital footprint using Google Analytics and other resources and, where possible, optimize search engine performance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on digital communication and utilization of ESD’s communication-driven digital tools and resources; provide training as appropriate
  • Support ESD’s overall communication goals so that all constituents are engaged in a meaningful and timely manner, whether online or more traditional means

Abuse Risk Management Standards:

  • Adheres to policies related to boundaries with students. 
  • Attends required abuse risk management training.
  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. 
  • Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. 
  • Adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities

Working Environment:

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, as well as driving between campuses. 
  • Generally 70% sitting, 10% walking and 20% standing
  • Minimal temperature variations with some outdoor work required
  • Generally hazard free environment.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • B.A. degree, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Superior knowledge of digital communications, including SEO and best practices in web design
  • Disciplined self-starter with strong creative, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; experience in photography and video production is a plus
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a positive and professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with a working knowledge of AP Style; team players only
