Responsibilities

Visual Merchandisers are responsible for display, placement of merchandise, updating price and promotional tagging in the store. Implement corporate design standards and enhancing overall display through related tasks, design details, partnership with the floor crew.

  • Interpret seasonal concept direction and inspiration provided by the Corporate Visual Team to meet the unique needs of your store, including space constraints, knowledge of customer and local cultural interests 
  • Continually generate fresh ideas in display using varied materials, while retaining a collaborative and flexible mindset 
  • Quickly and efficiently implement any merchandise or sales floor changes given by the Visual Design Manager or General Manager before store opening
  • Maintain Showroom to Corporate Visual Standards and support peers as needed 
  • Prioritize weekly plan based on Store Team meeting and direction from Corporate Visual 
  • Implement and Maintain department planograms 
  • Coordinate placement of new merchandise and backfilling sold merchandise
  • Suggest merchandise changes based on sales, product flow and on hand inventory levels
  • Partner with sales management and operations team in the merchandising, displaying and inventory integrity of your retail showroom 
  • Work with the Back of House management team and handlers to procure product needed to maintain floor layouts and new displays
  • Set the example of showroom readiness through leaving the displays clean and tagged to company standard 
  • Zoning: Perform morning visual walk throughs to ensure the store is at grand opening status
  • Maintain communication and picture submission for vignettes and displays with Visual Design Manager and General Manager 
  • Utilize knowledge of design and the furniture business to enhance customer experience and increase sales
  • Prepare for inventory counts by reviewing variances and assisting to reconcile inventory variances 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong space planning, time management and organizational skills 
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to design a space and enhance a showroom for visual appeal 
  • Experience working diligently with little supervision 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and creative environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to take constructive criticism and adjust accordingly
  • Solutions-based problem solver who maintains a positive attitude through change 
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to use hand tools 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred
  • 1-3 years of related work experience in visual merchandising 
  • Portfolio
