The Columbus Zoological Park Association is Hiring a Business Intelligence Administrator Near Powell, OH

Overview

Manage information and data assets of the Columbus Zoo Family of Parks through active engagement with internal business organizations, constant review of data sources and data mining capabilities, creation of reports and portals to assist business initiatives, and assisting with management of source databases to ensure quality and accessibility of information. 

Remote/ hybrid work available with a primary residential address within the State of Ohio.

Must have the ability to come in to the office once every other week for on-site internal meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage existing Microsoft SQL Business Intelligence software and tools to generate reports and connect to external data sources through shared files, APIs, and data connectors.
  • Administer and manage Microsoft SQL databases, Power BI Service and Report Server, and other data sources.
  • Analyze Microsoft SQL databases and other data sources for quality issues and implement data quality solutions.
  • Analyze data for trends and anomalies and take appropriate action in conjunction with team members and internal customers.
  • Administer and manage the organization’s Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and web site heatmap accounts.
  • Integrate email marketing software into existing web sites and applications.
  • Research user concerns associated with the organization’s application databases and suggest possible solutions.
  • Build custom reports within an existing application’s reporting tools.
  • Assists with end user support of computers, applications, and mobile devices as needed.
  • Constantly strives to further the mission of the organization and avidly supports the Columbus Zoo Family of Parks.
  • Implements sustainable practices in daily tasks whenever possible.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a computer related field required.
  • 5 years database administration, data analysis, or similar functions required.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft SQL database technologies and management tools required.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services and Integration Services required.
  • Strong experience with web analytics required.
  • Familiarity with commercial email marketing software required.
  • Ability to create and modify complex Microsoft SQL stored procedures and views to handle data management functions required.
  • Ability to analyze data and derive conclusions that enhance business value required.
  • Ability to create meaningful reports based on business requests required.
  • Ability to effectively engage non-technical users required.
  • Understanding of information and data security principles required.
  • Previous experience with Business Intelligence software required.
  • Other programming skills (Python, HTML, XML, etc.) required.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables required.
  • Familiarity with commonly used commercial software packages required.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays required.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work in an efficient and cost-effective manner and without direct supervision required.
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service by positively interacting with guests required.
  • Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures, and in particular, safety protocols, required.
  • Possession of a valid Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license and a good driving record required.
  • Ability to adhere to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s drug-free workplace policy including but not limited to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and follow-up treatment required.
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal history background check annually required.
