Job Purpose:
The Nurse Manager leads the overall operation of nursing teams with accountability for compliance with regulatory and professional standards for patient care units and staff. This position provides compassionate & competent nursing care so that we have the opportunity to feel the joy of impacting the life’s of our patients, their families, and our co-workers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

An active member within interdisciplinary team to coordinate plan of care for patients: patient placement in unit to meet child’s need, oversee updates to nursing care plan for patient, participate in Patient Care Conferences & Team Meetings as scheduled, serve as liaison/contact person for nursing and other departments to assure care needs for the patient are met. Direct Care Tasks for patients may not always be performed by the Nurse Manager. However, the Nurse Manager remains responsible to assure that nursing tasks are being performed by their direct reports. | 45% |
Participate in departmental Planning & Improvement efforts: serve on department &/or hospital committees, complete medication administration and employee attendance audits – analyze data regularly & recommend process improvements, | 40% |
Collaborates with staff to ensure their workplace needs are met: regular one-on-one rounds with each staff member, annual evaluation, maintains open line of communication with Nurse Team Leader & Supervisor members, actively seeks input from co-workers to pursue innovative ways to improve departmental process & patient care. | 15% |
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Nursing. Ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English is required.
Experience: Previous experience in area of specialty with proven managerial skills with 4 years as RN Staff and 2-3 years supervisory experience.
Licenses/Certifications: Registration and current RN license in State of Oklahoma; CPR and PALS Certification.
