Responsibilities

The CSO serves as the executive responsible for the identification, development, implementation and management of security strategies, staff, and programs for Draper and its employees. This position leads and directs all aspects of the Draper’s security program including, Physical Security, Industrial Security, Counterintelligence, Information Security/Cyber Security and Special Programs. Additionally, the CSO oversees the security aspects of the entire Draper’s national security program. The CSO reports to the CEO and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Senior executive responsible for providing security services to protect the Draper’s integrity, people, processes and assets from damage and loss.
• Leads and manages the Draper Security including special programs, physical security, administrative security staff and information technology/cybersecurity professionals.
• Leads the development, implementation and maintenance of security practices, policies and procedures to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability in areas of information, physical, personal, and reputation.
• Develops and maintains relationships with external high-level law enforcement, Defense Department and Intelligence Agency officials including in-country security, intelligence and private sector counterparts.
• In collaboration with security team personnel, coordinates and implements site security, operations, and activities to ensure protection of executives, managers, employees, customers, stakeholders, visitors, etc. and physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.
• In partnership with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), responsible for development and enforcement of enterprise wide Information Security policies.
• Partners within functions to recommend actions in response to adverse behavior by Draper personnel.
• Responsible for the security for Draper’s cleared remote facilities throughout the US.
• Serves as Senior Insider Threat Official for Draper. Responsible for overseeing the counterintelligence and investigations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in security related roles including management positions of increasing responsibility required.
• Experience leading large complex security related organization that includes oversight of highly classified special programs required.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage functional capital and expense budget.
• Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and consensus within an organizational climate of diverse operational activities and often-conflicting regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences, including briefings to executive management and governance committees.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead change including organizational transformations, policy changes, and introduction new security related programs.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Security related area preferred.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Security Management or related field strongly desired.

Security Requirement:

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance is required; current active TS/SCI clearance preferred.
