The Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) exists to awaken a more loving world through the teaching and practice of the Christian contemplative tradition. We are pioneering a unique and values-aligned approach to fundraising and financial sustainability that meets the highest standards of transparency, relationality, and solidarity.
Our vision for our values-aligned approach to fundraising began in 2020 when we started exploring broader questions about money and how it might be possible to utilize our financial resources and financial transactions as opportunities to support spiritual transformation. When we acknowledge that our relationship with money often acts as a mirror for our inner journey, we asked a series of questions about how we can relate to it in ways that support the growth of CAC and our broader donor community.
In response to these questions, CAC has established a comprehensive, board approved Financial Philosophy which captures Fr. Richard’s theological themes around money, the CAC’s key financial principles (listed below) and operational implications around how we budget, spend, generate, and invest our financial resources.
CAC’s Key Financial Principles
As we work to operationalize this vision, we are looking for a Development Manager to design and implement a digital system of at-scale donor cultivation and stewardship that works in alignment with these principles. In this new role, you will lead efforts to personalize the donor experience, so people feel valued and connected to the impact of our work, regardless of their giving capacity. Reporting to and supported by the Development Director, your role will be critical in expanding the work of the CAC through both internal project management and external communication with donors.
CAC has a remarkably broad and stable base of recurring and individual donors. A key element of this role will be working with the development director to design, build and manage a system to appropriately engage and appreciate these donors.
