The Broadmoor Hotel's Talent Acquisition Team is Hiring a Guest Services Supervisor Near Colorado Springs, CO

Summary: Supervises and directs the operations of the front of the hotel, including the Bell Staff, Valet Parkers, Doormen, and shuttle drivers.Pay rate: $18.00/hour service chargeClick HERE for Benefit Information!Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Smile, welcoming and positive attitude that supports the philosophy of The Broadmoor Hotel.• Does scheduling in the absence of the Director of Guest Services• Supervises and monitors all front of the hotel activity• Assists with the training of all new Bell Attendants, Door Attendants, Guest Service Hosts, Valet Parkers, and Shuttle Drivers• Monitors employee adherence to the Mobile 5-Star, AAA 5-Diamond, and Preferred standards• Maintains inventory and orders supplies as needed• Assists staff members with difficult situations• Ensures positive and efficient staff interaction with guests• Continuously maintains the lobby and main entrance (i.e. ash trays stamped with hotel logo and kept clean, all trash picked up)• Updates staff on all changes in hotel facilities, local area and hotel guest meeting changes• Ensures guests are properly welcomed • Follows through on all guest needs and requests• Ensures that all luggage, packages, faxes, etc. are handled properly and timely• Ensures proper coverage of the Guest Services desk to expedite guests’ arrivals and departures• Interviews prospective employees in the absence of the Director of Guest Services• Posts all charges for luggage handling and room deliveries for groups• Ensures that all delivery sheets are completed and put into the computer for payroll disbursement data• Assists and ensures coordination with all areas of Guest Services with emphasis on arrival and departure processes• Completes employee performance evaluations in a timely manner• Processes and administers employee disciplinary actions as needed• Provides ongoing feedback for employees including rewards and recognition for jobs well done• Coordinates luggage movement for blanket groups and group deliveries• Attends pre-conference meetings• Prints and reviews resumes for group needs and pass-on• Completes pass-on for other supervisor/manager(s) and documents appropriate on-goings• Conducts pre-shift meetings with staff• Performs other duties as assignedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Computer Skills:Must develop proficiency in order to print guest lists, learn and use the Hotel time and attendance system, and order inventory using the Stratten Warren purchasing system.Language Ability:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Certificates and Licenses: Valid Colorado Driver’s License(45 day grace period from date of employment application until applicant must have valid Colorado driver’s license.)Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises up to 35 employees in Guest Services. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
