As the Broad People Development Learning Specialist you will design, develop and produce custom in-person and online learning content to advance learning outcomes and reflect state-of-the-art pedagogical techniques. You will ensure that the educational content meets the needs of the target audience and is developed to proactively support learner needs, deliver relevant learning opportunities, provide a structure to reinforce training, and evaluate outcomes. Working with stakeholders across all departments you will create innovative learning experiences in support of both personalized and social learning to develop the professional and technical skills of the “Broadie” community. As part of the HR People Development function, you will also assist in the support and coordination of trainings which includes: managing logistics, communication, scheduling, and reporting. You will also work on projects that support the Institute’s multidisciplinary initiatives, cross-functional HR projects, and the portfolio of professional development programs and trainings offered by the People Development team. You will proactively support People Development’s work and represent the group to internal stakeholders, external facilitators and vendors, and work collaboratively with subject matter experts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop and deliver innovative and effective online learning solutions Consult with Broad senior leaders, departments, committees and affinity groups to determine needs and develop educational content Contribute expertise, recommend improvements, and ensure alignment with organizational strategy Manage assigned projects from start to finish; develop content and materials, and deliver completed learning modules Determine format for training to meet the needs of target audiences and select appropriate instructional and delivery methods, e.g., microlearning, video, animation, gamification, etc. Build collaborative relationships with people at all levels of the Institute and work seamlessly and proactively in a team environment Assist with the management of our learning programs by coordinating logistics and communicating with facilitators and participants, producing virtual workshops, and moderating sessions Assist with content management within our learning technology (e.g. communicating with stakeholders to collect information, building learning resources within the LMS) Assist with learning technology administration and support as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in education, instructional design or instructional technology or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred 3-5 years’ experience working in education or related field required Proven success in the design, delivery and management of projects and programs from inception through completion Strong interpersonal skills required, including clear and concise verbal communication, presentation, business writing and active listening skills Thrive in a collaborative team environment and have the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously Tech-savvy, curious, and interested to research and learn new technologies Ability to work independently; excellent organizational and prioritizing skills Outstanding initiative with very good customer service Follow-through and exceptional attention to detail on all project tasks is essential Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Ability to apply adult learning theory and instructional design methods to create and develop training activities Experience building e-learning and mobile learning solutions Ability to create project plans, training materials, course design, and communication planning Ability to analyze content and translate it into effective educational modules Experience with Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or Camtasia a plus The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard will not offer visa sponsorship for this opportunity.
