The Board of Pensions is Hiring a Service specialist Near Philadelphia, PA

The role :

The Service Specialist acts to complete service for enrollment and eligibility customer interactions and provides a high level of customer support on specific data integrity and data collection processing.

The Service Specialist interprets the Benefits Plan and communicates information to members and employers to help them make informed decisions on how to fully utilize the available Plan benefits, programs, and services.

What you will do :

  • Provide accurate and concise answers to secure conversations through the benefits website with responsiveness, knowledge, and understanding.
  • Process member and employer benefits transactions, maintain accuracy and production standards, and ensure accurate benefit information and record keeping by entering enrollment and eligibility information in the benefits administration system.
  • Update and maintain member and employer information for benefit enrollments and changes by reviewing supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness and through critical thinking, research and problem resolution.
  • Support data integrity by processing changes and corrections for member benefits resulting from exception reporting generated through various benefit administration file feeds from employers.
  • Process benefits administration system entries resulting from ad hoc reports for data clean up as identified and assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, assist team members in understanding plan provisions and provide feedback on development and enhancements for the Plan Operations Team.

What you need to succeed in the role :

  • Critical thinking, excellent problem solving and effective time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to comprehend, interpret, and communicate healthcare, income protection and retirement benefits information for customer understanding.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal instruction and supervision and effectively contribute to a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to understand the unique needs of employers and members and relate effectively over the telephone for personalized service and support with hospitality, excellence, care and compassion.
  • An ability, interest and desire to stay current on employee benefits administration and seek opportunities for professional development.
