Job Summary The Aerospace Corporation at our Colorado Springs campus is looking for a HVAC Technician for assisting in planning, implementation, and coordination of all mechanical HVAC operations, maintenance, and energy management systems, including two campus buildings and surface parking lot. Work Model Onsite – Colorado Springs campus location What You’ll Be Doing Conduct and assist with inspections and surveys, including energy audits and analysis, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, environmental and ADA compliance. Assist with review of technical operations, surveys, energy audits and analysis, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, environmental and ADA compliance. Support Operations/Engineering Management in the development and updating of preventive maintenance and engineering procedures, hazardous materials communication plan and indoor air quality programs. Assist in budgets, operating cost estimates and comparisons, life safety programs and procedures, domestic water quality control and enforcement of EPA and OSHA compliance. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all HVAC mechanical building systems and equipment. Respond to customer requests for temperature, electrical and plumbing issues. Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and campus operations staff. Develop specifications and assist in solicitation and administration of maintenance/repair service contracts. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, government agencies and company directives related to building operations. Position may require on-call, flexible rotation from time to time. What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, minimum Two to five years in commercial HVAC environment Universal CFC Certification, valid driver’s license, and appropriate license/permits required by El Paso County, Colorado. This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: HVAC Trade or Technical School preferred Heavy commercial electrical and HVAC experience preferred. Ability to resolve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Well-developed analytical and quantitative skills.
