Job Details Overview: Johnson Controls is seeking a hands-on instrumentation and calibration technician to join our Water-Based Fire Suppression New Product Introduction (NPI) team at our R&D facility in Cranston, RI. At Cranston’s R&D center our teams are responsible for the design, development, and certification of fire protection products which aid in life safety and property loss mitigation. Job Summary: In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assists in overseeing operations, installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical instrumentation. Essential Job Responsibilities: Confers with research personnel and other technical functions as required to clarify and resolve problems and develop designs. Maintains a working knowledge of general industry and specific agency approval requirements, to ensure compliance is maintained. Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish and/or evaluate performance standards and limits for new or existing products. Plans, develops, conducts, and oversees experimental test programs. Prepares and presents reports and presentations as needed. Performs all elements of the job in accordance with established procedures. Qualifications: Self-directed; able to strategize on test plans without established protocols; strong on-time and quality project delivery Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, good written and oral communications skills, flexibility, and adaptability to changing situations. Ability to write reports and convey detailed technical information. High attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
