Texas TMJ Sleep & Facial Pain is Hiring a Full Time Medical Assistant Near Plano, TX

Overview

Texas TMJ Sleep & Facial Pain has an opening for a full-time medical assistant in Plano, TX. We are a specialty practice dedicated to Orofacial pain/TMJ and dental sleep medicine. If you enjoy working in a positive, collaborative environment and have a desire to improve the lives of others through personalized care, consider joining our team. Reporting directly to our practice’s director, the dental assistant has an integral role in patient care, including setting up and cleaning treatment rooms, escorting patients to the treatment room and making them comfortable, update medical history & treatment records, front desk duties and assisting the doctor with clinical procedures.

  • Clinical Job Duties Include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain Accurate Patient Records
  • Maintain a Professional Appearance
  • Maintain an Organized Work Area
  • Schedule Follow-up Appointments.
  • Assist the doctor with procedures and scribing notes.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
  • Help clean the office and treatment rooms.
  • Diagnostic Records (trios digital impressions, CBCT X-ray)
  • Instrument Sterilization
  • Review patient chart prior to doctor arrival and log appropriate patient data during exam and treatment as well as transcribe doctor notes in patient chart.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
  • Follow organizations safety policies and procedures
  • Have knowledge and understanding of medical/dental terminology sufficient to perform job successfully
  • Support the office staff members by fulfilling patient care responsibilities
  • Check and respond to voicemails and emails left for the office.
  • Must be available to work Monday-Thursday. Hours 30 a week and up.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred).
  • Graduate of accredited medical assisting program. (preferred)
  • Highly effective verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Outstanding positive attitude and demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of all company policies and rules
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
