For our Vehicle Hardware Test Engineering team, we are looking for an extraordinary electrical test engineer to focus on design validation and reliability testing of energy conversion systems including DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/DC power conversion systems, high-voltage connections and harnessing, and switches.

You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to test and validate our ground-breaking hardware and ensure our high reliability standards are met.

• Own and drive design validation and reliability testing of high-voltage systems and/or components containing IGBTs, MOSFETs and gate drive circuits, capacitors, chokes/inductors, transformers, inverters, etc.
• Develop electrical test setups to perform accelerated stress testing and simulate various usage & environmental conditions, in collaboration with reliability and design engineers.
• Automate existing and new test setups to streamline execution, data monitoring and collection, failure detection, and data analysis.
• Process test data, confirm accuracy of results and prepare detailed reports.
• Conduct failure analysis, root cause analysis and assist in proposing corrective
• BS or higher degree in the areas of Electrical Engineering (MS or above is preferred), Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years of experience working in a high-voltage (HV) laboratory testing environment (including relevant internship or academic lab work experience).
• In-depth understanding of HV power electronic components (active and passive) and expertise in developing associated characterization/validation testing methods.
• Expert knowledge of testing power electronics (inverters, switches, etc.), thermal testing, durability testing.
• Proficiency in using standard lab equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, DMM's, etc.). Familiarity in DFM, production and EOL testing is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of test automation and data analysis software (e.g. LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, etc.), data acquisition methods, microcontroller operation and interfaces, CAN, and Ethernet-based communications.
• Understanding of electrical safety standards and hazards must be second nature.
• Strong problem-solving skills and thorough understanding of sophisticated electrical test setups.
• Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances. Own assignments and take full accountability for their success, with the ability to change direction quickly.
