Collaborate closely with our materials, process development, and global manufacturing engineering teams.

Working knowledge of PFMA and Fault trees to determine root cause of material
Hands-on, able to collaborate on test setups and help run experiments
Familiar with coating deposition methods such as: flame spray, HVOF, laser sintering,
Familiar with fabrication methods of vessels, blades, pipes, etc. Rolling, welding, additive manufacturing, molding, extrusions
Familiar with post treatment methods like surface polishing, passivation, anodization, etc.
Testing and characterization tools: DMA, Hardness Tests, offline Wear Tests such as ASTM G65
Experience with electrochemical battery cells is a positive
Experience with manufacturing equipment
Fundamentals of wear physics and fracture mechanics
What you'll do
Select appropriate materials of construction for vessels, piping, rotating machinery, etc.
Leverage experimental and analytical methods for material selection
Collaborate with material companies and manufacturing companies in the design and fabrication of our equipment
Design, execute, and analyze experimental data to understand root cause and compare alternative solutions
Able to make tradeoffs between competing factors such as wear rate, chemical compatibility, cost implications, heat transfer, etc.
Own material of construction specifications
Serve as a subject matter expert on the team to address material of construction and wear issues
Contribute towards related custom mechanical engineering and equipment design projects
