The Coatings team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. You will design and develop technically complex processes for finishing/coating our products; which includes process development, specification and validation, establishing and optimization of critical process parameters, design for manufacturing, equipment specification and design, as well as installation and commissioning. The candidate will work closely with internal cross-functional teams, external vendors and technology partners on process development from concept to production.
* Lead cross-functional collaboration and build relationships across the organization equipment, mechanical, electrical and support disciplines including project managers, manufacturing reps, and other stakeholders.
* Lead product design for manufacturability (DFM) and sustainability through analysis of product design and identification of potential risks to the process. Support FMEA and development of solutions to address critical risks. Prroduct design to the lowest overall cost (BOM cost manufacturing cost)
* Documentation of product requirements for process and equipment specification
* Process development from concept to serial production, including: Developing highly optimized process designs which simplify the manufacturing process. Research and development of advanced processing technologies and associated material requirements. Process invention, development, trials, and testing that shape the design of the process and/or product. Process release through detailed equipment specification, manufacturing instructions, workstation and line layouts, product trials, and prototype production management
* Detailed line design based on process requirements, throughput and OEE calculations.
* Lead process verification by developing acceptance testing criteria and verifying process/equipment meets requirements using statistical tools (such as GR&R, SPC and Cp/Cpk)
* Manage large scale projects for new programs such as the development of timing plans and cost breakdowns for executive approval. Identification of risks to project timing driving corrective action. Regular reporting of project status to executive teams. Oversight of installation and commissioning of new manufacturing lines
- BS in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Chemical preferred.)
- Minimum 3-5 years related experience in a technology-based industry, where automated methods are utilized in the finishing/coating of consumer products.
- Experience working with or developing functional/aesthetic finishing processes, including but not limited to: Automotive Paint and Powder Coating, thin Film Coating (eg. PVD, CVD, PECVD), thermal Spray Coating, dip coating and surface Finishing (eg. Sanding/Graining, Laser Texturing, etc)
- Experience in developing, executing, and interpreting results of Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Experience using Industrial Engineering methods working in high-volume manufacturing processes.
- New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired
- Proficient in using Catia, SolidWorks, Inventor, and/or AutoCAD. As well as development and deployment of PFMEAs
- Knowledge of Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) and Six Sigma
- Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, etc. as well as Mastery of MS Office suite
- Travel required ~ 25%

$80,000 - $258,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
