The Role:

The SCADA Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, and testing SCADA and plant control system for solar, solar and storage and other hybrid plants. The system must bring together multiple sub-systems of the renewable plant to meet the operational and regulatory needs of the owner and grid operator.

The SCADA Engineer will also be responsible for reviewing owner specifications, identifying, and documenting any expectations from Terabase’s standard design; to include developing drawings for network design, server rack elevations, fiber patching, and data collection. Create documents for firewall rules, data mapping, and IP addresses.

This is a highly collaborative role that will include work with Project Management to provide a reasonable BOM for project proposals; as well as lead the technical portion of the projects to a successful Factory Acceptance Test and hand over to the Project Execution Team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Engage directly with customers; Developers, Owners, Utilities, EPCs, and ISOs.
• Design and develop monitoring and control systems for utility scale renewable energy projects.
• Generate project documentation including drawings, operator manuals and training material.

  • Device Points Lists
  • IP Addresses List
  • HMI Mockups
  • Data flow Diagrams
• Program and test Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s) for data acquisition of various devices.

• Work with the following technologies and platforms:

o Controls: SEL-RTACs

o HMI: Ignition

o Historian: MSSQL, InfluxDB, and Canary Labs

o Network: SEL, Cisco, Hirschmann, Fortigate, and Moxa

• Coordinate with field technicians for on-site commissioning and installation support.
• Develop and execute test plans to evaluate new hardware and system designs.
• 3 years of experience in EMS development, troubleshooting etc.

Compensation And Benefits

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each posted range individual pay is determined (and may be greater or higher) dependent on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
