Now about you…

As a Senior Hydrogeologist at Tepa, you will be expected to have technical expertise in hydrogeology, groundwater modeling, conceptual site modeling, environmental investigations, remediation, and reporting. You must be able to work on multiple projects, maintain project schedules, and complete work safely and in accordance with approved work planning documents, as well as coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies and internal staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Site characterization of PFAS contaminated sites and development of conceptual site models (CSMs)
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative interpretation of complex hydrogeologic systems and develop analytical and numerical groundwater models to characterize flow and contaminant migration pathways and assess impacts to remediation efforts
  • Coordinate groundwater mapping results with environmental sequence stratigraphy efforts and provide collaborative interpretation in determining contaminant transport pathways
  • Conduct geospatial analysis between geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental restoration sites.
  • Characterize groundwater-surface water interface for complex geologic sites
  • Provide senior-level technical support and develop new and innovative investigate techniques for site characterization and remediation projects, site-level technical tasks, specialty research, and hydrostratigraphic column development
  • Provide senior-level technical leadership and support for complex environmental investigations under various state and federal regulatory settings
  • Plan and manage complex subsurface field geologic investigation tasks
  • Supervise and manage geologists to perform geologic and environmental investigations
  • Develop sampling and analysis plans, review geologic samples and geologic unit identification, assign laboratory testing, and supervise reporting
  • Design field data collection efforts such as the installation of monitoring wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP's, geophysical logging, lysimeters, inclinometers, transducers etc.)
  • Interpret hydrogeologic data and write geologic reports
  • Conduct hydrogeologic research, write project proposals and reports
  • Provide technical direction and oversight as well as mentoring and training to junior-level staff
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients by providing technical expertise, attending client meetings and leading project development pursuits

What are we looking for?

  • 10 years’ experience practicing hydrogeology
  • Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology or related field
  • Senior-level skill and experience with the design and implementation of groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling for complex hydrogeologic systems
  • Senior-level skill and experience in innovative site characterization technologies and knowledge of hydraulic parameters affecting site contamination and remediation
  • Experience with depositional environments and geomorphology in relation to hydrologic conditions and aquifer characterization
  • Knowledge of mapping and geovisualization techniques
  • Knowledge of aqueous and isotope geochemistry, and contaminant geochemistry
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory cleanup laws (RCRA, CERCLA, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Experience in writing cost proposals
  • Experience with large field investigation projects
  • Experience with geological investigation, evaluation, recommendations and construction
  • Licenses and/or Certifications: PG Registration

Preferred (not required):

  • DoD environmental site characterization and/or restoration
  • Groundwater Modeling
  • Experience with management of mid to large-size, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Specialized computer skills including database applications, GIS and gINT
